Your Legacy

Soundview Memories

It is funny but it seems like when you once lived in the Bronx it is always home.  I moved to Queens 40 years ago but my heart is home in the Bronx.

I lived in the Soundview section of the Bronx.  I grew up on Boynton Ave off Westchester.  The 6 train was down the block from us as was the old Ward Theater.  I went back about a year ago and found it to be a one price store.

No matter what changes have been made it is still home.  James Monroe High School was just up the block and PS 77 was on Ward Ave.  I also attended JHS 123 which was open only 1 year at that time.

I remember once a year the carnival came and we all would spend the day.  It was held in an empty lot not far from Soundview Ave.

I hope this brought back some happy thoughts for some of you.
